Meribel ski resort and Courchevel along with a third resort, Val Thorens make up a vast ski area called the Trois Vallees (Three Valleys ).
Each resort is quite different, Courchevel Village (1850) is smart, sophisticated and with exceptional restaurants, shops and bars, this is the snowy playground that entices the rich and famous.
Courchevel Moriond (1650) is quieter, with an old village centre.
Meribel ski resort has a more down to earth, family feel to it. The 150km of pistes that are Meribel skiing are accessed by a world-record breaking system of high-capacity gondolas that gets more skiers up the hill quicker than any other ski resort, and being the centre valley allows easy access to both Courchevel and Val Thorens.
